There is a real shift coming in the church these days. The trumpet has been sounded and a new move is being announced. A new move with a new sound.
Some churches are not going to adapt to this new shift and will be phased out. They are stuck in their old ways and its expressions and they will therefore miss what God is doing in this time.
It is not so much a 'new' move as in 'never seen before', but more a deeper revelation of an old truth which has always been there, hiding in plain sight.
As we already discovered last week (in part 1) God took the Israelites out of Egypt with a mighty hand and many miracles, but he still had a problem; Egypt was in their minds. He still has the same problem today.
Some think that that if we see a miracle, then we would be sold, but this is not true. Even with clear evidence that God is who he says he is and even if we see the miraculous (like the Israelites in the desert), we can lose touch with the reality and stop cooperating with the Divine.
We forget the miracles and will be looking for the next thing.
God however is invested in getting through to us. He is broadcasting on all frequencies and is calling us to tune into him.
Rom 12 says: Therefore offer your body as a living sacrifice; this is your reasonable act of worship.
Why does Paul say that is our reasonable act of worship? Well, he is saying that once you have understood:
1) who God is and
2) how he loves us and
3) what his plan is for our lives
you would be a fool not to submit yourself to Him.
Give God access to yourself so that he can express himself through you and there is no area where God will not carry you into.
God's plan is to set up a nation of royalty. A nation of kings. He wants his world back, so that his original purpose can be achieved. The Lord's prayer echo's this: Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
God also has his own spiritual technologies, which are there for us to take hold of. We need to renew our mind so that we can prove the things of God. He calls us to operate on his level, from his spirit - not just in the natural.
2 Cor 10 says:
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
As you can see it is a battle of the mind. We are destroying arguments and pretensions and take captive every thought.
We need to use our mind faculties properly and begin to educate ourself in the spiritual tools that He has given us.
Our imagination is one of those tools. Take a moment for example to imagine going into to your kitchen and taking a beautiful juicy lemon out of your fridge. Now imagine you are cutting it in 4 quarters and sink your teeth into it. Are you sensing anything?
You often find that even involuntary, your body will start to prepare for the reality of the lemon even though you know that you are just imagining it. So if the reality of a simple lemon can be this powerful. Just imagine how powerful the promises of God will be to bring about a desired result in your life?
So pray to know Gods plan for your life. Then take that vision and treat it in the same way. Take yourself to the end of it - to the promise fulfilled and in your imagination enjoy the receiving of it. Imagine how nice it will be and how you will feel. Because, by creating a strong emotional connection to the vision, you will start to anchor the vision into the reality.
That which settles in your imagination will bear fruit in your life.
