Created to be like Him

Before you read this blog, watch the video. In this video you will see the story of how a poor young man became a millionaire. The interesting thing about this story is, that this man is no different than you or I, yet at 15 he was selling muffins and making thousands every week.
How did he do this? He saw someone else who escaped the township and said to himself: If he can do that, so can I! He got himself some vision and belief and started working towards that.
He is a perfect example of the saying: 'As a man thinks, so is he.' Just be aware that where your mind leads, your life will follow.
Now for the mind to lead, it needs vision. Even the bible says that without vision the people perish.
It is never too late for vision to capture your imagination. This is not just for young people. In old age Abraham received a promise from God, who also gave him some visuals to focus on. He showed him the stars in the universe and the sand on the sea shore and promised him as many offspring.
So you might be wondering, how is it possible for me to do this, these people must just be special or something?
Read Gen 5: When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God. He created them male and female and blessed them. He named them mankind when they were created.
Every creature he made according to its kind and each kind of creature has its own special skills and attributes. As I am sure you have heard me say before:
- The swim is in the fish
- The flight is in the bird
- and the divine is in you!
So what is this divine nature in you like? If you look around in nature, you see that everything is moving toward 'more' in an abundant way. There is a divine part in a a man is always looking for a greater expression. This desire is a God desire in us.
So if God's desire for abundance in all things is in you, then it is fair to say that we are all called to be rich in every way and give full expression to the divine within us.
It is natural to want more out of life - it is a 'God desire' in us. If you don't believe me, just take a moment and ask yourself, can you imagine God dirt poor? Can you imagine Him drunk or high? Can you imagine God abusing people? or sick? No! And why not? Because it is not in his nature to be these things. And since we are filled with the divine nature of God, we are expecting to see all the bountiful aspects of God in our lives.
And how do we appropriate these amazing things?
Well, we work in the same way as God does. In the creation account, it says that God spoke the world into existence. He said: Let there be light and there was light and he saw that it was good.
So first God had THE IDEA of creating light.
Then he SPOKE it into existence.
Then finally he SAW that it was GOOD.
So it started with vision/thought/ideas - then moved to speech and finally results in the natural and he felt good about it.
If we are to operate from the divine, we will need to use our imagination and see the end of the thing we are thinking of.
For example: If we want to be a winning athlete, we envision ourselves running through the ribbon and being congratulated on our success. By faith we are then appropriating the vision and bringing it into reality.
Many people believe in things, but not many believe things in!
In James 3 you can read about the power of the tongue. He compares it with the bit in a horse's mouth and a rudder on a ship, both able to change the direction of the whole situation. It is the same way with the divine. With your tongue you can shape the outcome of your life. Decide what you want from your life and speak that and only that! Don't undermine the process by speaking negatively.
Prov. 18:21 says; Death and life are in the power of the tongue and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof.
So finally to recap.
The divine is in you
He speaks through ideas and gives you vision
Use your imagination to see the vision fulfilled
Use your words to speak it into being
You will see the fruit of it
