Rev. 11:15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”
If you read any history book, you will find that when one kingdom takes over another kingdom, it is usually done by force.
Since God's Kingdom is a kingdom of love and not of violence, you have to wonder then, how do the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of our God and his Christ?
The simple answer is 'Influence'.
Influence is the way that God operates.
So what is our role in making this kingdom government happen? Is it to be an invading army? No - not in the physical and violent sense. But what we do need to do is to bring the influence of the Kingdom of God to the table.
It is about 'bringing in' the principles of the Kingdom of God that make us successful, that causes life to be effective and impactful; in our family, our community, our country and our world.
How then do we apply this intelligently so we can see results? By applying the laws of the kingdom to our lives. One of these laws is this:
Life was designed to give you what you deserve, not what you need.
The truth is, ignorance of the laws of the kingdom can cost you greatly both in your own life and in the influence you have in the world. You can be a child of God and still be a vagrant, because you haven't applied yourself to learn anything about the kingdom of God and how it operates.
There once were two men. One put seed in the ground and expected a harvest. The second man did not put seed in the ground and also expected a harvest. Which man do you think deserved to reap a harvest? The man who put the seed in the ground - right?
The truth is: You will reap what you sow. Therefore the ground is looking for seed. If you turn up without an investment - the soil will be saying to you: 'What kind of fool are you to turn up without seed?' You will get nothing in return. In the same way, the kingdom is also looking for an investment.
Jesus, speaking of material things in this life, said that the world runs after all these things; clothes, food, houses etc, but that it is your job to stop worrying about these things and seek first the kingdom so that everything else can be added onto you. (we all love the idea of everything being added onto us - i.e. the harvest)
He also said: Do not be afraid little flock, it has been the Father's great pleasure to give you the kingdom.
He goes on to say: 'Sell that you have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which don't grow old, a treasure in the heavens that fails not, where no thief approaches, neither moth corrupts. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.'
So what is the seed (investment) that the king is looking for: YOUR HEART
Will it be worth it? God thinks so! Just listen to this:
1 Cor 2:
What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived
These are the things God has prepared for those who love him
