Hosting the presence of God

God loves to express himself in many different ways and in different forms. God loves to express himself through his people. However God is not going to force himself on anyone and is looking for permission to come and dwell with you.

The bible says that we should pray:

- LET your kingdom come

- LET your will be done

Practicing and developing the atmosphere where you are inviting the presence of God in your life is important.

Why is that important, you may ask? It is important because we are living in what the bible calls 'gross darkness'. What is gross darkness - it is not physical darkness, but a spiritual darkness that does acknowledge God.

When Moses went up to the mountain to seek God for direction of the people of God who were camped in the wilderness. Moses came down and his face was shining with the presence of God. The presence of God is light.

When you enter the presence of the God, light will fill you and you will announce to the kingdom of darkness that you have been hanging out with the almighty!

Now I personally love to sing and worship and find it easiest to find the presence of God when I listen to music. So I would like us to listen to this song and relax.

I used to think that it was hard work to hear the Spirit of God, but it is not. You hear the voice of God if you allow him.

And where His Spirit is, there is light. Light for your situation. Light of understanding.

1 Thes 5:5-6

You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. 6So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober.

We are children of the light. And God wants us to use that light as we make our way in the world. The light is the truth and He will guide us into all truth. With His light he gives inspiration, ideas and plans which are his expressions in the world.

Do not allow this original inspiration to be diluted or contaminated. The enemy is not creative, he just comes to subtract and will try to steal and pervert the idea.

You might be wondering how the enemy might be able to steal Gods ideas and his plans from you. And it is simply this: doubt. His wedge of doubt is practically the biggest weapon against you. He will simply ask: Did God really say? The same question he has been asking for thousands of years...

You can become deceived, it is possible, especially if you are not spending time with God. He will show up in the place of your gifting.

He will ask.. who are you to do this thing? He will say.. why don't you try this, or that? His way or her way? How about this, how about that, how about the other?

If we are not guarding our hearts in the presence of God, we are so easily tempted. But if we walk in the light then we are aware and we are sober and people of the day, just as the scripture says.

Step into the light - host the presence of God in whatever way makes sense to you. He will light your path and fill you with wisdom for the way ahead.
